Journal entry:
I began writing a status on Facebook, and it morphed into this poem. I particularly like its shape on the page…
January 1st
Raining slowly, quietly,
Just a pitter-patter
As the sky softly weeps.
This day,
Like all days,
Slips quickly away.
Blank pages of a new year
Written upon by actions taken,
Opportunities passed by.
Love wraps around
Keeping us safe,
Heating hearts.
We make our way into
Mystery provided by
Delight of oncoming days.

1. I slept well last night.
2. The new year gives me fresh opportunities.
3. Mom cooked today.
4. It rained all day.
5. I put out our new calendars.
