Falling Short

Sometimes it is hard
To make others happy as
You would really like
Because they have different
Measures of satisfaction.

You attempt to make
The best of situations,
But you only cause
Misunderstanding, trouble,
Not at all what you desire.

You cannot give up,
You cannot stop trying to
Bring some happiness
To those for whom you care so
Very much, loving them more.

Uncertainty

I am not so sure
You know me or I know you
Because I, myself,
Am a mystery to me,
Unknown and unknowable.

Every day I learn
Something new about myself,
So how am I to
Fully comprehend who you
Might in reality be?

I encourage you,
I attempt to lift you up,
But I have no true
Idea what you think inside
Of your own sovereign mind.

Only God surely
Knows the interior heart
Of each one of us,
We live our lives according
To our own good devices.

Jesus lives and He
Alone redeems us from our
Base inclinations,
We are left to live within
The confines of His great love.

Supportive

I am
Someone who tries
To bring happiness and
Encouragement to the lives of
Others with whom I come in contact each
Day, but know I fall woefully
Short of what I aspire
To accomplish,
I try

When There Is Crisis

When things
Fall apart and
Madness appears to rule
Our world, there is a safe haven,
A place, a person to whom we can turn
His name is Jesus and He stands
Ready to take us in arms
Give us hope of
Heaven

Article Of Faith

Blessings come with trials,
Life is full of openings
Which always let me
Know God is looking after
Me along each path I take.

No shortage of times,
Opportunities to see
His grace in action,
He oversees everything
Happening in my whole life.

I am well cared for
At each singular moment,
Never does God leave
Me without full protection,
Jesus is my safe shelter.

The Lord sends people
To help me upon the path
He lays before me,
I am never abandoned
But am aided on my way.

I shall give God praise
For He is the Rock my life
Has Foundation on,
I am His and He is mine
Forever and ever, Amen.

As my own skin, now far
Away and hidden from my sight,

I will long remember
As doubly sweet

365 Creativity Project-Day 332

Journal entry:

Journal 12-6-20120001

I missed yesterday’s prompt on Poetic Asides, but I wrote my answer this evening…

In The Company Of Misfits

We do not belong,
We are a bit different,
We are not well liked,
Even in the presence of
Each other we are awkward.

You might like to make
Us feel at home, but we are
Not quite assuaged by
Your sweet words or actions, we
Look askance at such efforts.

We might have once been
Focus of evil bullies
And we remember
How we were badly abused,
Now we are shy of friendship.

We are the misfits
Who sit outside the spotlight,
Hardly moving close
Enough for anyone to
Become acquainted with us.

Yet there is hope for
Us because we are full of
Imagination
And creativity lives
Within our hearts, minds, and souls.
