365 Creativity Project-Day 326

Journal entry:

Journal 11-30-20120001

The following poem answers the prompt at Poetic Asides. If you need a prod to get your imagination working visit that site.

Galaxies Revolve

The stars spread above
In the awesome Milky Way
Lighting up the night
In its infinite beauty
Impressing each one of us.

God the Creator
Placed each star in its orbit
Like a spill of milk
Stretching across the blackness
Of the night’s deep velvet veil.

We are each much like
Those random stars set within
Myriad galaxies
Shining out creatively
In radiant multitudes.

The milk of human
Kindness oozes out of us
Spreading wide over
The universe of people who
Inhabit our earthly realm.

We are such bright stars
Set in the grand firmament
Shining Milky Way
Spreading our brightness throughout
Humanity’s darkest night.

4.   I finished reading Generosity by Richard Powers.
5.   I have plenty of cards that I can send.

I hope you had an enjoyable Friday. My day was very busy. I found time to do something creative, so should you. Share your imagination with the world.

Journal entry:

Journal 11-29-20120001

The following poem is in answer to the prompt on Poetic Asides. You might travel over to that site if you need inspiration.

Created For Greatness

Today and every
Day I rise with greater hope,
Anticipation,
Because I believe my life
Has an intrinsic meaning.

The Lord blesses me
Far more than I imagine
With gifts beyond my
Greatest need and I am born
Into heaven’s family.

My experience
Although sometime troubled here
Is definitely
Worth celebrating with joy
Because happiness abounds.

I may have little,
But I have been given quite
Enough to fulfill
And satisfy the basic
Necessities of my life.

Born to taste glory
I live anticipating
The coming of Christ
Who will instantly change me
To fit in eternity.

2.   I can see the colors of the world around me.
3.   I can read and learn new things.
4.   I can discover answers to my questions easily online and by phone.
5.   Windows Live Writer allows me to alter the look of my blog beyond what is available through the WordPress editor.

I hope you have had a wonderful Thursday. Mine has been very low key. Now I suggest you use your imagination and creativity to do something great. You can share your gifts and talents with the world if you will attempt it. There are so many who are only waiting to see what you make.

As a prompt, write about how fonts have influenced your life. Maybe you have thought little about it, but take a few moments to write about the text all around you. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

365 Creativity Project-Day 324

Journal entry:

Journal 11-28-20120001

Today, I did not feel comfortable with the prompt at Poetic Asides, so I went instead to The Sunday Whirl. I know it is a bit late to use that prompt, but I hope I will be forgiven my tardiness. The words in italics are from the wordle. Visit either of these sites for a dose of inspiration.

Miscreant

The scent of silence
Held sway at the disturbed end
Of her sentences,
The audience fell stark still
At sight of her in a heap.

She skimmed the pages
Of her unscripted life for
Some fleck of meaning
But it all seemed a load of
Unmitigated trouble.

Did no balm exist
For the soul of an exile
Lost within a world
Holding no place for one who
Was so very different.

Perhaps walking on
Stage with these sycophants who
Mindlessly follow
The trends of society
Was completely a mistake.

She belatedly
Remembers you cannot choose
Where you enter life,
But you have total control
Of how you choose to live it.

365 Creativity Project-Day 323

Journal entry:

Journal 11-27-20120001

My poem today answers the prompts at Poetic Asides. I hope you will visit that site for inspiration.

Shooting Stars

There is light and dark
In everyone, but some are
More to an extreme
Being who we deem heroes
And villains, the best or worst.

We aspire to be
Heroes to our friends and kin,
But it is so rare
We achieve those lofty heights
In their true estimation.

Villains, we do not
Want to be cast as at all,
But sometimes we play
The role without intention
And no way can avoid it.

We best perhaps can
Only hope our lives are bright
Less left in shadow,
Living life courageously,
Whether heroes or villains.

Journal entry:

Journal 11-26-20120001

Today’s poem answers the prompt at Poetic Asides. If you need something to get you writing, visit that site.

Books

There are shelves crammed full,
Leaning stacks threatening to
Topple over here,
There must be thousands of them,
Still I want to acquire more.

Reading is a love
Of mine easily fulfilled,
But there is little
Reason to collect all these,
It seems such an obsession.

The library used
To be my favorite place,
I carted thousands
Back and forth, but decided
I should try reading my own.

Now I search among
The many volumes living
Here to find the one
Suitable to fit my mood
Cracking open the covers.

365 Creativity Project-Day 321

Journal entry:

Journal 11-25-20120001

Today’s challenge on Poetic Asides was to write a poem that was opposite to another written this month. At first this presented a problem, because I could think of no opposites, then I thought of the gathering prompt and came up with separate… Hence the following poem.

Separate Ways

Let us separate
Going our own directions
Because we do need
To reach beyond each other
Becoming independent.

We can live alone,
Apart from society,
Intentionally
Isolated from others,
But that would be unhealthy.

Being together
Is no doubt quite wonderful,
But we need to craft
Our space in the universe
Distinct from one another.

We become detached
Uninvolved in the lives of
Our fellows who move
In circles separate to
Our simple revolutions.

We need some distance
To develop as single
Individuals,
Autonomous people, who
Can function well on our own.

I am grateful:

1.   I did not really miss my contacts today.
2.   There were enough leftovers for supper.
3.   I did not have to cook.
4.   Alex still talks to me at times.
5.   We had Mucinex on hand.

I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing Sunday. Mine has been blessedly peaceful. Now I want to challenge you to do something that engages your creativity. Use the brilliant imagination God gifted you with to create a poem, story, journal entry, photograph, painting, or anything else that moves you. Don’t just sit there making excuses, get yourself busy.

As a prompt, write a poem, story, or journal entry using the concept of separation. If you are a visual artist, illustrate separation. I have a feeling this will not be difficult. So much is separate about our lives. Leave a link to your work in the comments below if you use this prompt.

Thank you for visiting my blog. It is an honor and privilege to have you spend time here. Should you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism, please leave me a comment. If you enjoyed what you experienced, you might want to follow Chronicles.

The Truth About Computers

I have often heard
The machines called so evil
By those who do not
Spend any time using them,
But I think they little know.

Computers are tools
Made to help communicate
With others with ease,
Automate mathematical
Processes, and parse data.

These wonderful tools
Open the world from a desk
So that strangers can
Connect and share varied lives
Without traveling from home.

Because computers
Exist we can shop from home,
Share our opinions
With people in other parts
Of the country or wide world.

Computers are great
When used to reach out beyond
The boundaries of
Space and time bringing us all
Even closer together.

Journal entry:

Journal 11-23-20120001

I wrote the following poem in answer to the prompt at Poetic Asides. I hope you will visit that site for inspiration.

Profound Affection

My love is deep, deep
As outer space is wide, deep
As the blue ocean,
Deep enough for you to sink
Into almost forever.

I hold you inside
The heart of me, so tightly,
I will never let
You go because you do mean
The whole wide world to me now.

We are family
Our bonds are very deep and
Tight altogether,
No one can break us apart
Because we love each other.

I never forget
How dear you remain to me,
I am reminded
How precious are the ties of
Our generations of blood.

Deep is the meaning
Of our lives joined together
And deep is the love
We continue sharing with
One another every day.

Today’s poem was prompted by Poetic Asides. If you need inspiration go to that site.

Almost Heaven

Together with you,
I have paradise in hand,
Living happiness
Without any real regrets,
Given all the very best.

The stars and planets
Make endless revolutions,
But we are only
Passing sudden like the wind
God sets quickly in motion.

We are travelers
Befriending one another,
Keeping company
As we make our way through life,
Enjoying the paradise.

My poem answers the prompt at Poetic Asides. This one was quite the challenge and you should make an effort to do it, so visit that site.

The Song Goes On

You’re the reason I’m
Left in the dark with no clue
As to why you’re gone,
I thought I lit the fuse on
The inside of your cold heart.

You were the light which
Shone ever so bright within
My life’s close borders,
But I will bring the harvest
Into the sunshine again.

My love takes free flight
Rising above all regret,
I will not ever
Let the disappointment bring
Me down into depression.

I am moving so
Much further than I believed
Possible because
I have gone beyond my fear
That being alone would hurt.

So you’re the reason
I have grown in happiness
Because by leaving
You opened me up to life
Above imagination.

Journal entry:

Journal 11-20-20120001

Today’s poem answers the prompts from Poetic Asides and Carry On Tuesday. Either of these sites might give you writing fodder, or you could combine the two as I did.

Imagine Gathering More

Imagine there was
A gathering of the saints
Who have gone before
To advise you in daily
Endeavors and teach kindness.

Imagine you were
To allow your wayward heart
To open wide and
Facilitate gathering
Help for those less fortunate.

Imagine you set
Aside your own selfish goals
To be a blessing
To a bigger gathering
Of friends and acquaintances.

Imagine going
Out of your way to reach more
Of the gathering
Poor who need benevolence
From you and many others.

Imagine God and
His angels are gathering
Round urging you to
Be so much more than ever
You have dreamed or imagined.

Today’s poem was prompted by Poetic Asides. Join me in writing by visiting that site.

Revolutions

Wheels turn unending
From the beginning of time
To this present day,
The universe cycles through
Season after season on.

God owns everything
From the tiniest flower
To human beings,
He keep the stars spinning and
Delivers pure happiness.

Nothing overcomes
The sovereignty of God
Who controls all things,
Turning day into night and
Setting His great love in flight.

We may attempt to
Accomplish our many goals,
But the wheels of our
Destiny are set moving
By the Lord’s omnipotence.

We are kept alive
And have our existence in
The circle of God’s
Kindness and ultimate care,
And the wheels keep on turning.

The following poem answers the prompt at Poetic Asides. The words in italics were given in the wordle there. You will notice my mood continues. If you need inspiration visit Brenda’s site and perhaps you can make your own masterpiece.

Not Backing Down

I am so sorry
That they think I have done wrong,
I am not a pawn
They can bust because of pride
There is too much fire inside.

I am not afraid
To tell them to their faces,
Not being
silent
They will find unless life knocks
Me out, I will do my best.

The beauty of it
Is I only belong to
Design the pages
To publicize the club, not
To feed enormous egos.

2.   Mom watched me work and gave valuable input.
3.   Richard and Norma are supportive, even if there is dissent from others.
4.   I had salad as a snack and enjoyed it.
